Let It Go

I'm sure at this point you have seen Frozen, and if you haven't at least you know the song "Let it go" (Even if it is just because someone you know plays it,annoyingly, over and over--Sorry friends). Even if you don't know the song you can get something from the title alone.

I know it's been a while since I sat down and wrote a post, and for that I'm sorry. This (school) year has been the longest yet shortest, best yet worst, easiest yet hardest-- essentially it has been a conflicting turmoil of everything possible. Now that it is done I can look back and see just how much I've learned (in and out of classes). This year has been a tremendous step in learning about myself, learning about life and what it all entails. This quote says it best:

I currently sit at a crossroad of saying goodbye and saying hello to something new. This has me right terrified. Letting go is the hardest thing, but it pushes us into something else, something potentially brilliantly wonderful. The future is daunting because we don't know what is going to happen, but that's why it is called the future. It is the time to come or the time ahead and no one knows what it will bring. Which is beautiful and utterly terrifying at the same time-- another tug-of-war battle. What I've learned though is that it's not the situation that matters persay but rather how we react and handle the situation that is presented to us. I've spent most of my previous posts being positive and inspirational (I hope) and that's really the best way to handle things. A positive outlook is key, as is moving forward in general-- there is nothing else to do really. Sometimes this involves letting go. Hold on to everything that you can, but know that you can't hold on to everything --that's crucial. I mean Elsa from Frozen hits it right on the head: "Let it go, let it go- can't hold me back anymore". If you feel something is holding you back take a step back and take another look. Maybe, just maybe, it's time to say goodbye.

Change is good, whether you know it at the time or not. Change offers new opportunities, new experiences, new acquaintances and new stories for you to tell. It can be hard, challenging and sad perhaps to say goodbye and adapt to the changes coming your way, but without them how would we grow? Embrace these changes you  are facing, it makes the whole transition so much easier. I'm in the process of doing just that as we speak. Hold on to the memories you've made, the friendships you've built and the rest will fall into place.  So cheers to the future and cheers to everything new. May you embrace it and cherish the memories you've made.
