Plot Twist

Plot Twist:
NOUN

An unexpected development in a book, film, television programme etc.

What they don't say in the definition is that plot twist perfectly applies to life! A plot twist is supposed to keep things interesting, keep things moving and changing-- progressing if you will. Isn't life just full of these moments? Good or bad these moments push us forward and keep us progressing in the direction that we are supposed to be going. I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason, so if something doesn't go the way you planned and leads you astray for a bit it's not the end of the world. I'd say it's the opposite rather; the beginning of a whole different world. The beginning of something brand new, or of opportunities you never thought you'd come across. In the moment things might be tough and horrible and you may not be able to see things in a positive light. That's fine, that's life too. But where you go from there is what matters. Move on, move forward, and learn from whatever it is that has happened to you. Be strong, be confident and be proud. Oh and try out this new twist to your life; you never know what might come of it!

Yes, perhaps the unknowns are worrisome and scary or down right terrifying, but what if you never knew? What if you never took a chance and found out all about the unknowns? What then? Wouldn't that be worse? To never know? I'll let you think about that for a bit. These twists and turns can sometimes be the best thing to ever happen to you and if they aren't then you learn something from it-- which is just as important.

So the next time something is thrown at you take a step back and look at it. It's just a plot twist; something to move your story further in the direction it's meant to go. You're either going to learn something or have the time of your life. It's worth knowing and it's worth moving forward from it. So next time try yelling (or thinking to yourself) "Plot Twist!" and just keep on being the best version of yourself that you can. You'll get through it- you always do.
